Nashville Zoo Welcomes Trio of Endangered Sumatran Tiger Cubs

Nashville Zoo celebrates a historic moment as they welcome their first-ever Sumatran tiger cubs! Born on Friday, October 20, the trio comprises one male and two females, marking a significant milestone for conservation efforts.The arrival of these adorable cubs is a testament to the zoo’s dedication to preserving endangered species. Mother Anne, who arrived at the zoo from San Diego in December, experienced her first pregnancy, underlining the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for these majestic creatures.

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with only a few hundred left in the wild. The birth of these cubs not only brings joy but also raises awareness about the plight of their species.

Currently, Anne and her cubs are kept in a private den to ensure bonding and minimize disturbance. Zookeepers and veterinary staff closely monitor their progress through cameras installed in the den. Anne’s attentive behavior and the cubs’ nursing indicate a healthy start to their lives.
